This article focuses on selectively addressing the elucidated structures of bioactives published in the last three years. Traditional sources of hormones, antineoplastic agents and antibiotics are not included. Because natural products are enzymatically produced from normal primary metabolites, they interact more easily with many other biopolymers, such as receptors, than many products synthesized by purely chemical imagination. Bioactive natural products are also precisely prepared for other purposes, so the natural products themselves are not necessarily in clinical use, but as a chemical clues, using modern drug design principles and refining can lead to new ways of drug research and clinical progress.
