为了开展小学英语教学实验,前段时间,我们对省内外许多地方的小学英语教学情况进行了一番调查,结果发现:有赶时髦式的——一周开一节课,由语数老师兼任,几个学期一本英语书也没教完,根本没有效果;有区域性地开设英语课,一周两节课,但英语教师严重不足,效果参差不齐;有打品牌式的——公立校的实验班或私立校,高薪聘请大学英语专业的毕业生任教,甚至聘请外教,效果自然不错,可是“羊毛出在羊身上”;有观望式的——东部经济较发达地区的城镇至今小学没有开设英语课。
