Susan Mann, an American scholar, has been studying the history of the Ming and Qing dynasties in China, women’s history and gender history for many years. Now she is a professor of history at the University of California, Davis. Her representative works include “Zhen Zhen Lu: The 18th Century The Precious Record: Women in China’s Long Eigteen Century ”and The Talented Women’s the Zhang Family. As a masterpiece of overseas gender research, the “Zhenzheng Lu” has won the Levenson Award of the Asian American Studies Society and is honored as the most important study of the history of Chinese women and gender history in recent years
