It is obviously an important center of Buddhism art that crossed the Jinghe River basin in Shaanxi and Gansu provinces in the 6th century. Although it is not as famous as Yungang, Tianlongshan and Longmen Grottoes, there have been numerous pilgrims, Because of its remoteness in the west, its sculptural qualities and figurine techniques, as well as the few absolute dating materials found in this area, are of great importance to the study of early Chinese sculpture.
