传统的烧伤创面处理方法需要花费大量的时间进行早期削痂、植皮,以及通过Z字成形术、皮片或皮瓣移植等方法松解挛缩的瘢痕,而且通过这种方式愈合的皮肤干燥、无弹性,长期随访的结果,特别是在烧伤累及到关节、面部或手指,影响患者活动时,令患者和医生感到沮丧。应用烧伤湿性医疗技术(MEBT/MEBO)可彻底改变烧伤患者的处理方法及治疗效果——实现植皮率低、皮肤弹性改善和挛缩瘢痕发生率低。
