CD100 is a member of the semaphorin family and plays an important role in the development of neuronal neurons and in the production of antibodies to the immune system and in the adhesion of immune cells. A variety of proteolytic enzymes cleave CD100 to yield soluble CD100 (s CD100), which has similar biological functions as CD100. Although the mechanism of shedding of CD100 has not yet been fully elucidated, the study found that the occurrence of various diseases is related to the abnormal expression of CD100. This review summarizes the generation of CD100, biological functions and its relationship with related diseases such as immune diseases, tumors and bone metabolism diseases, and discusses its potential as a diagnostic marker and a therapeutic target for early detection of diseases.
