从中国古典园林之美的角度看,《荷塘月色》只是作者独自“尽兴而游”的“隐游”活动写照:即对“隐游”的原因、“隐游”的时间、“隐游”的地点、“隐游”之静美、“隐游”的文化联想和“隐游”的方法进行记录。一方面,文中的“隐游”体现了中国传统美学中“有”和“无”的空间组织和创造,诞生出在主体的凝神寂照中风月虚景和荷塘实景相融的意境,形成画境文心之美,另一方面说明了“隐游”的实质是中国传统文人的精神世界和安生之道。
