《荀子·天论》云:“养备而动时,则天不能病,养略而动罕,则天不能使之全。”就是说,一个人若调养得当,加上按时的活动,才能却病延年;如果调养不好,又缺少活动,那是很难长寿的。因此,老人养生最忌久坐、久立、久卧与久视。 一忌久坐。“久坐者伤肉”。人到老年,由于肢体行动不便,愿意久坐。坐虽然是恢复疲劳的一种必要休息,但久坐容易使肌肉衰退与萎缩。因此,老人应多走路,勤活动,“安步当车”,这样,才能改善血液循环,加强肌肉锻炼。
