《人间天堂》是美国著名作家菲茨杰拉德创作的长篇小说,其问世奠定了菲茨杰拉德桂冠诗人的地位.在《人间天堂》作品中,菲茨杰拉德通过对艾莫里“幻想——追求——破灭”这一历程细致入微的描绘,“将青年人狂热追求‘美国梦’的幻想和注定破灭的这一主题淋漓尽致地表现了出来”.本文从功能主义翻译理论出发,立足翻译是跨文化交际行为的这一观点,对《人间天堂》的两个英译中版本分别从语篇层面、语言层面、句法层面三个方面进行了对比分析,从而来探究译者是否能在译本中传递出原著的风格和特点.
