However, some studies in recent years have found that in some animal and gastrointestinal segments, the slow wave may originate from other sites besides the longitudinal muscle , I also put forward some new ideas on the mechanism. On the other hand, while the slow wave is transmitted longitudinally along the gastrointestinal tract, it must be transmitted to the deep ring muscle. The conduction between the muscularis and the exact role of the ring muscle in conduction remains controversial. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the research progress and advances in the origin of slow waves and the conduction between the muscular layers
