跨国公司需要三种专家:业务经理、区域经理和职能经理,以及一批高级主管来培养这些专家并对他们的工作加以协调。业务经理的工作核心应该围绕以下三种角色而展开:他(她)所在组织的战略家,世界范围内资产、资源配置的设计师和跨国交易的协调者。区域经理不仅要满足当地顾客的需求,还要使东道国政府感到满意,并同当地及外来的竞争者相抗衡以维护公司的市场地位。职能经理必须注意审视世界范围内的专业化信息,并推动可能会带来跨国机遇和应用的革新。
Multinational companies need three kinds of experts: business managers, regional managers and functional managers, and a group of senior executives to train these experts and coordinate their work. The core of the business manager’s work should focus on the following three roles: the strategist of his (her) organization, the designer of global assets, resource allocation, and the coordinator of cross-border transactions. Regional managers must not only meet the needs of local customers, but also satisfy the host government and compete with local and foreign competitors to maintain the company’s market position. Functional managers must pay attention to reviewing specialized information worldwide and promote innovations that may bring cross-country opportunities and applications.
