大量研究表明,有意注意在幼儿三岁左右开始发展,此时,幼儿也已积累了相当丰富的口语词汇,在这两个基础上对幼儿进行初始阅读教育是完全可能的。 国外在初始阅读方面有大量研究,但基本都使用的拼音文字。对表意文字(主要指汉字)的初始阅读只有日本人进行了研究。为了探讨汉字的初始阅读,同时对汉字与拼音文字进行比较,我们利用汉字的特征和汉语拼音,设计了如下实验:
