Traditionally,the teaching of English in China has been dominated by a teacher-centered method and an emphasis on rote memory.However,learning autonomy has been proved more successful in the foreign language acquisition case.This paper discusses some factors influencing college English learner autonomy in China.Motivation,learning style and learning strategies factors are analyzed combined with current college English language learning situations.Several effective suggestions are proposed at last to foster and promote learner autonomy in college English learning.
