小麦是我国主要粮食作物之一。新中国成立以来,重视产量的提高。三十多年来取得很大成绩。以本省为例,1984年小麦产量比1949年总产量增加3.6倍,亩产增加4.4倍。但对品质有所忽视,推广品种籽粒蛋白质含量比地方品种有所降低。自1978年十一届三中全会以来,随着改革、开放的深入开展,人民生活水平不断提高,对小麦品质提出了新的要求,引起国内领导和科学工作者的重视。许多农业院校和科研机构将小麦品质的研究列入科研计划,并取得了不少成绩,为今后改进和提高小麦品质,打下了良好的基础。
