There seems to be a common phenomenon in the long history of translation in all countries: the translator is also a writer. China is no exception. This article examines two cases, Lu Xun and Zhang Ailing, both as writers and translators. Starting from the theory of role conflicts in sociology, this article analyzes the background and personal factors of certain times to analyze why the translator’s identity prevails over that of writers , While Zhang Ailing is the opposite, and this case study further proves the feasibility of interdisciplinary research in sociology and translation studies.
