Since Grand Avenue started six years ago, the guys have composed lots of popular songs, and earned "Danish Music Award" nomination twice. In fact, this band with reputation of new Coldplay sounds like "Coldplay" only when they play slow songs. Indeed, the frontman Rasmus's voice is somewhat like Chris Martin's. But more often, the shock rock style revealed by Grand Avenue may remind us of the Sound of the English band (Band Sound)'s more refreshing style.
The story of Grand Avenue is just a story about four young music talents who take music as partner everyday. The band is composed of Rasmus Aalter Hanson (front-man and composer), Niels kristia brentzen (guitarist), Marc Btebbing (bassist) and Halte Thygesen (drummer). Their daily life is filled with music, music and music .
However, the four boys had been good friends before the band was founded. Nielskristian and Marc are buddies growing up together. And NielsKristian met Rasmus at school in 1997, at the same time Marc came across Halte at another school. Later, the four guys got together in London, with their admission of London Music College. They spent most of the time in school and even spare time talking about music together, whereas they finished their music classes respectively until graduation to return to Denmark and began to perform formally together. Rasmus joined the band when he was in London, and gained recognition of leading record companies. But after the experience of four years' big talk and promise breaking, he went to his hometown Copenhagen in 2001. Upon arriving in the land of Denmark, Rasmus got connected with Niels immediately. Then Rasmus began to compose songs, which he had never had chance to create when he was in London. Shortly after, Marc and Halte joined in, then the Grand Avenue was born.
The main composer of Grand Avenue is Rasmus, whose unique voice makes their music different from classic Danish music. He has a deep strong and full of connotation voice. The more you listen to it, the more appeal you can get from. And it is rather surpassing compared with other bands' frontmen. In addition, Niels' creative guitar performance and solid teamwork of Halte, all of these make their band sound distinctive.
Since 2003 Denmark Grand Avenue issued its first album Grand Avenue, which named after its namesake the film Grand Avenue directed by famous America director Daniel, depend on their unique stage performances skill and distinctive style of music, they have received a lot of prestige and accomplishments in rock field. During this four years, they released album She and the brand-new Outside World of this year ,and six single records, like Take It As It Comes,This Is Not An End,On Your Sidehave all gained great success. Among those, three single records Unhappy With A Street, After The Rain and What's On Your Mind gained them two Danish best music nomination.
The phrase ofGrand Avenue"meet before ten"has become those boys' habit, and it's also the necessary acceleration to release their third album Outside world. As a band with worldwide reputation, there is no other way to make it. Their new album follows previous style while Rasmus keeps his unique voice as always and more expectation may be mixed in.
◆Interview:
★Q: Why your band is named Grand Avenue?
★Rasmus: Grand Avenue means a broad road. Our music is such a carrier of the style: freedom, wide space, Vacant.
★Q: Would you please talk something about your comprehension of Chinese music?
★Rasmus: I've heard of Lang Lang's piano recital long time ago. And I have particular concern about the Asian singers of EMI —Tao Zhe, Flowers band, Justin and so on, thinking that they have very good sense of music. Especially Tao Zhe, his music is done similarly with foreign music, it can be said that his style is created in accordance with the international needs. And it's closer to international standards and the requirements of the audience.
★Q: Well, are you considering adding theChinese styleinto your next album?
★Rasmus: We are very interested in China's erhu, so we don't rule out the possibility of Chinese element's accession.

格兰大道的口头禅“早上10点前见”成了这几个月来的一种习惯，也是催生第3张专辑《外面的世界》的必要条件。作为一个有着国际声誉的原创乐队，没有别的办法可以做到。这张专辑仍然延续了乐队以往的音乐风格，拉斯姆斯的声音一如既往的独特，或许增添了更多的希望。

★问:为什么乐队会取名“格兰大道”呢？
★拉斯姆斯：“格兰大道”的意思是广阔的大道，我们的音乐也是秉承着这样的风格：自由、大气、空灵。
★问：请谈谈对中国音乐的理解好吗？
★拉斯姆斯：我们早就听过郎朗的钢琴演奏，而且特别关注同公司EMI门下的亚洲区歌手，知道陶喆、花儿乐队、侧田等，觉得他们都很有乐感。尤其是陶喆，他创作的音乐和国外的音乐很接近，可以说他的风格都是应着国际需要而创作的，更贴近国际水平和观众的审美要求。
★问：那么你们的下一张专辑是否会考虑加入 中国风 呢？
★拉斯姆斯：我们对中国的二胡很感兴趣，不排除融入中国的元素。
