在许多用电镀法改善外观、提高耐磨性和抗蚀性的应用方面,目前发展了一种新的冶金方法,可以代替铬和其它贵重材料。这种新的冶金方法无需贵重的金属材料,也免除了处理电镀所产生的含高毒性六价铬废液的工序。此法是建立在商业上称为软氮化的常规盐浴氮化法的基础上的。柯兰(Kolene)公司称之为QPQ法(即急冷-抛光-急冷)。
In many applications for electroplating to improve the appearance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, a new metallurgical method has been developed to replace chromium and other valuable materials. This new metallurgical method eliminates the need for expensive metal materials and eliminates the need to dispose of highly toxic hexavalent chromium-containing waste streams from electroplating. This method is based on the conventional salt bath nitriding process known commercially as nitrocarburizing. Kolene calls it the QPQ method (ie, quench-polish-quench).
