在六十年代以前气动输出放大元件往往和电器配套,受控于电器。从六十年代开始出现了气动逻辑元件,气动元件不仅仅只是各种换向阀,而且用逻辑元件进行运算,从被控地位一跃成为控制元件,这就赋予气动技术以新的生命力。近年来出现了全气动控制的自动化装置在一些特殊场合很适用,如潮湿、粉尘、强磁场、易腐蚀和易爆等条件下用电子技术实现自动化就不完全可靠,而用气动技术代替电子技术就安全可靠的多,所以,除在机械加工行业外还可在军工、化工、矿山、铸造和轻工等行业中应用。我厂从一九七一年开始参与研制膜片式逻辑元件,并用这种元件对30多台机床进行了改造,其中有气动车床、气动倒角机、攻丝机和六角车床等。下面扼要介绍主要逻辑元件。
