Now it's probably a little cliché to comment on Brokeback Mountain and Memoirs of a Geisha, but no one has ever juxtaposed them. There seems to be a lack of reason, as the two are so different in terms of content selection, theme construction, narrative form, and image style. For Chinese audiences, more attention may be given to many factors beyond the film, such as the choice of performers and the winning of the film. What is more interesting to the writer is the disclosed image strategy in the context of international integration.
