1在托卢别耶夫机务段,亚历山大·瓦西利耶维奇·马尔采夫要算是最好的火车司机了。他仅30来岁,可是已经有一级火车司机的水平,早就在开直达快车了。当第一台功率强大的“NC”型客车机车来到我们车库的时候,就是派马尔采夫到这台机车上去工作的,而这是完全合理和正确的。给马尔采夫当助手的是机务段里的一个上了年纪的钳工,叫费奥多尔·彼特罗维奇·德拉班诺夫,可是他不久就经考试合格,当了司机,到另一台机车上去工作了,于是我就给派去接替德拉班诺夫,在马尔采夫的机车乘务组里当他的助手;在这以前我也是当机械师的助手,只不过是在一台功率小的旧机车上。
