Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) was applied to detect the clinical and histologically confirmed female reproductive tract condyloma acuminata (genital warts), the panty swabs of some genital warts and the vaginal wall swabs of normal women Tumor virus DNA (HPV-DNA) was tested. The results showed that the majority of patients with condyloma acuminatum were caused by HPV infection (98.25%). The HPV-DNA positive rate of psoriasis patients was 73.68%. The positive rate of HPV-DNA was 54.00%. The results suggest that sexual intercourse is not the only way to transmit condyloma acuminatum. Patient contact with contaminants and subclinical HPV infection in the reproductive tract are indispensable pathways for condyloma acuminatum.
