我们处在一个变革的时代,变革的时代要有变革的理论、变革的教育。这个时代的基本特征之一就是人性的回归。人们的价值观念日益趋向多元化,人们的需求日益丰富多彩。一切教育的最终目的都是为了人的全面发展。21世纪的中国成人教育应当站在人的角度上在其观念和功能上实现新的突破。回顾近代成人教育的发展史,从1949年第一届国际成人教育大会到1997年第五届国际成人教育大会发布《汉堡宣言》;从1972年联合国教科文组织提出“学会生存”的理念,到汉堡会议提出的“成人学习——通向21世纪的钥匙”,人们对成人教育的认识在不断深化,教育人、帮助人、发展人始终成为成人教育时代嬗变的深刻主题。

Chinese adult education in the 21st century should make new breakthroughs in its concepts and functions from a human perspective. Recalling the history of the development of modern adult education, from the first International Conference on Adult Education in 1949 to the Fifth International Conference on Adult Education in 1997, the Hamburg Declaration was issued. From 1972, UNESCO put forward the concept of “learning to survive” The “adult learning - the key to the 21st century” put forward by the Hamburg Conference has deepened people’s understanding of adult education, and educators, helpers and developers have always been the profound theme of the evolution of adult education.
