最近我国老漫画家王乐天在报纸上撰文呼吁多创作些歌颂漫画,笔者也有同感。在改革开放的大潮中,漫画家应该积极投身改革大业,对改革开放中出现的新面貌、新成就、新风尚,进行歌颂,以鼓舞信心,激励斗志。广大读者对歌颂性漫画是喜欢的,而且要求很高。前几年我们对漫画读者进行了一次调查,这里我不妨摘几段供大家研究。湖南的一位干部说:“……漫画不论讽刺的,歌颂的,幽默的都是教育人民,打击敌人的好武器,一幅好的漫画,振聋发聩,动人心弦,胜过长篇大论。……比较起来,我最喜欢的是讽刺漫画,歌颂的漫画不是不爱,总觉得不易画好,在构思与技巧上有待探索。”有的读者说:“我周围的同志最喜欢幽默式的漫画,其次是讽刺式的,至于歌颂性的,一般难画好,倒不如弄成一幅含蓄些的宣传画。人们爱看富有蕴藉的宣传画,不愿看不伦不类的歌颂性漫画。”安徽省的一位读者来信说:“至于漫画 Recently, Wang Letian, an old cartoonist in our country, wrote an article in the newspaper calling for more creations of comic books.
