Preface Since the 1990s, many famous writers on the English literary world have passed away one after another, causing many critics to feel sad at times. They sigh aside the old British empire. As the novel editor Richard Gott put it, “It is well-known that contemporary English novels are in a tragedy.” Similar voices of grudges are heard: English novels have all their senses of writing and lack the United States The novel’s localization strength lacks the rich imagination of Indian novels, lacks the surreal luster of Latin American novels and lacks the political and historical vitality of Irish novels. Veteran reporter William Leith further analyzed that the reason why English novels fade out of the novel’s hundred gardens is that “recently Britain did not provide a good story background for the novel.”
