液力偶合器是利用液体动能来传递扭矩的新节能元件。它联接动力机和工作机,保护动力机免于过载,可空载起动原动机,改善电机起动性能及无级调速。液力偶合器的应用,对于提高机械的能力、节能、延长机械装置的寿命,均有明显效果。因此,它广泛地用于造船、交通、起重运输、冶炼、发电、化工、矿山等工业部门。铝工业虽尚未采用,但在铝工业部门的应用前景是极其广阔的。
