Objective To investigate the effect of series of postural support pads on early functional recovery and prevention of various complications in stroke patients. Methods 86 cases of stroke patients with hemiplegia bedridden were divided into support pad group and control group. Support pad group to implement rehabilitation treatment combined with rehabilitation position nursing (using series of position support pad), the control group was given rehabilitation therapy combined with traditional nursing. At 3 and 6 weeks after intervention, Barthel index (BI) and simplified Fugl-Meyer motor function scale (FMA) were respectively used for evaluation. The complication rates were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in BI and FMA scores between the two groups when they were enrolled. After 3 weeks of intervention, the BI score of the supportive pad group was higher than that of the control group (P <0.05), but there was no significant difference in the complication between the two groups (P> 0.05). After 6 weeks of intervention, the FMA score and BI score in support pad group were significantly higher than those in control group (P <0.01). The incidence of complications was significantly lower than those in control group and control group (P <0.01). Conclusions The series of support pads help to restore the motor function of bedridden patients with stroke and reduce various complications.
