農作物上的病害和虫害常給我們带來極大的災害,嚴重的时候使我們的粮食和工業原料作物大大地減產,甚至於毫無收成;使我們的果品和蔬菜減產,成为帶有病虫伤害斑痕的次品。農作物的病虫害更能增加在运輸和貯藏上的損失。在我們的國土上,每年有廣大面積的土地遭受着不同程度的病害和虫害。僅以棉花來說,如果听任病虫害蔓延而不進行防治,可以减產20—30％,甚至於更多。及时地防治这些病虫害可以顯著地使農產品增產。使用藥剂可以迅速而徹底地扑滅或有效地預防農作物上的病虫害。我們把这一門科学叫作“植
