On June 3, 1936, Snow arrived in Xi’an and later arrived in northern Shaanxi base for a more than four-month trip to the northwest where he interviewed the Red Army of the Chinese Workers and Peasants who just completed the long march of 25,000 miles covering the leadership of the CPC People, officers of the Red Army on the front line, as well as the circumstances surrounding the journey. In the autumn of 1937, he published the popular book “Red Star Shining China” (Chinese name “Comic of the West”). The book not only informed China and even the rest of the world of the fact that on the western loess plateau in the far East China, there are a group of revolutionary troops who are well-disciplined and have an ideal in mind, and who are rejuvenating the nation and revitalizing China. So how can Snow, a foreigner, reach northern Shaanxi? Look for hidden secrets to reveal the arduous course of the Chinese revolution and the memory of those who have left this precious historic fact lens.
