Objective: To investigate the effect of hemostatic agents on dentin bond strength of deciduous teeth. Methods: Forty retained primary molars were selected to establish a model of dentin after grinding and were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 20 experimental teeth in each group. The observation group was treated with hemostatic agent for 30 s, rinsed, and then bonded. The control group was directly bonded. The tensile strength and microleakage of the two groups were observed. Data were statistically analyzed using SPSS 19.0 software package. Results: The microtensile bond strength of the observation group was (12.84 ± 2.10) MPa, which was significantly lower than that of the control group (14.03 ± 2.28) MPa (P <0.05) , Extending into the open dentinal tubules. The length of the resin formed by the control group was about 7-35 μm, and the collateral traffic was obvious. There was no significant difference in the microleakage between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion: The hemostatic agent has certain influence on the dentin bond strength of deciduous teeth. Special attention should be paid in clinical application.
