Sweden’s Top Five Innovations in Organizational Policy and Practice 1. More Principals Involved in Developing Primary Curriculum One of the key innovations in primary education in Sweden is giving principals more time to enable them to improve their curricula and develop their teaching. Between 2001 and 2006, the proportion of time spent by principals in improving their own curricula and teaching in schools increased by 5%, well above the OECD average of the same period (a decrease of 1%) as a result of changes in the education systems of all countries covered by the report biggest. 2.
