Objective: To investigate the correlation between psychological factors and sleep quality in diabetic patients. Methods: All 248 patients with diabetes were investigated using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Scale (PSQI), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), Zung’s Depression Self-Assessment Questionnaire and Zung’s Anxiety Questionnaire, Social Support Questionnaire and Coping Style Questionnaire. Results: The scores of sleep quality were positively correlated with gender, neuroticism, anxiety, depression, subjective support and negative coping (r = 0.246,0.327,0.372,0.363,0.249,0.294), and there was a linear regression relationship. There was a negative correlation with objective support and supportive utilization (r = -0.245, -0.276, P <0.05). Conclusion: The quality of sleep in diabetic patients is related to psychological factors such as anxiety and depression. Therefore, psychotherapy and somatic disease treatment must be effectively combined to improve the overall treatment effect.
