当号召节約鋼材之今日,在准許使用玻璃管的場所,采用它来代替敷綫鋼管是有其一定的經济阶值的;虽然与敷設ПРД型或ПР型明綫相較并不便宜,但在美观、清潔、維护方面却均胜过多多了。我国对于用玻璃管敷綫的技术,在目前仍然是一种新的嘗試。过去虽有某些設計及施工單位提倡試用,但取得的經驗还不多,經驗的介紹也少,所以尚不能推广;尤其我国現在尚不生产与苏联电气專用玻璃管类似的产品,以及在玻璃管本身質量問题尚未解决之前,很多設計施工單位有許多顧虑而不敢采用。这須玻璃管制造部門从速研究解决的。玻璃管敷綫,按規定仅許暗設。若結構系搗制的混凝土,其本身不厚,而上下又無其他鋪設、粉刷层时,敷設玻璃管是有困难的。如構件系混凝土預制件时,則不論敷設鋼管或玻璃管都是一样的費事,譯者认为:在这种情况下采用玻璃管并不一定合适。 1955年苏联国家建筑出版社出版的“电气安裝工程”及著)中关于玻璃管敷綫問題,闡述較为全面,并介紹有施工用之特制设备,故持將書中关于玻璃管敷綫一段全文譯出,以供参考。
