Objective To observe the effect of kangaroo nursing on alleviating pain caused by neonatal heel blood sampling. Methods From February 2014 to February 2016, 260 newborn infants with heel blood tests were randomly divided into observation group and control group with 130 cases each. Nursing interventions were not given in the control group during the heel blood sampling, and kangaroo-type nursing interventions were conducted in the observation group. The changes of pain index and physiological index in the two groups were compared. Results The duration of facial pain expression and duration of crying in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group. The scores of acute pain behavior score in neonates were significantly lower than those in the control group. The heart rate of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group Degree was significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.01). Conclusion Kangaroo nursing is effective in alleviating the pain caused by neonatal heel blood collection, which will help keep the neonatal heart rate and oxygen saturation within the normal range.
