每个熟悉六十年代通用汽车公司的人都会怀疑1981年的通用汽车公司是否仍是原来的同一家公司。这个洋洋得意的庞然大物一贯凭它的庞大规模控制汽车行业,现今已是一个富有进取心和创造性的产业界领袖。这家公司不是通过裁减老的管理人员和破除旧的做法,而是通过持续不断的努力来实现自我革新的。它的管理制度能造就人才,能合理使用人才,因此已不断地为自己培养了既乐意又有能力去适应不断变化的情况的一些经理人员。
Everyone familiar with GM’s in the 1960s will doubt whether 1981’s General Motors is still the same company. This ambitious behemoth has always dominated the auto industry with its huge scale. Nowadays it is an enterprising and creative industrial leader. The company did not reduce old managers and get rid of old practices, but instead achieved continuous self-improvement through continuous efforts. Its management system can create talents and use talents rationally. Therefore, it has continuously cultivated for itself some managers who are willing and able to adapt to changing conditions.
