In my post-graduate years, when I first heard about using BGM in English classes, I felt “it was simply crazy.” But I dare to try it in the English class I teach. One day in June, I venture to start my English class with BGM for the first time. The students were very surprised and cast strange and suspicious eyes on me. There was even a burst of laughter in the class. However, I continue to put BGM on different occasions - during the two-person conversation exercise or during the class discussion. Now my students say they like to learn English in background music. They gave me BGM feedback, suggested what kind of music I should put in and when to put it on.
