Objective To investigate the relationship between the serum levels of MMP-9 and TNF-α and the indicators of bone turnover in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods Ninety patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (STO) were randomly divided into osteoporosis group, low bone mass group and normal bone mass group according to BMD. The serum levels of MMP-9 , TNF-α and bone turnover indicators and their correlation. Results The BMD of osteoporosis group was significantly lower than that of low bone mass group and normal bone mass group (P <0.05). The BMD of low bone mass group was significantly lower than that of normal bone mass group (P <0.05). The levels of serum MMP-9 and TNF-α in osteoporosis group were significantly higher than those in low-bone mass group and normal bone mass group (P <0.05). The MMP-9 and TNF-α in low bone mass group were higher than those in normal bone mass group (P <0.05). Serum s BAP and s OC in osteoporosis group and low bone mass group were significantly higher than those in low normal bone mass group (P <0.05). Serum CTX in osteoporosis group was higher than that in low bone mass group and normal bone mass group (P <0.05). There was a negative correlation between bone mineral density and MMP-9 level (P <0.05) and positive correlation with serum s BAP (P <0.05) Was negatively correlated (P <0.05). Conclusions Serum levels of MMP-9 and TNF-α in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are elevated. BMD is correlated with serum MMP-9, TNF-α and bone turnover.
