水力旋流器按应用类型分为脱油型和脱水型两种。脱油型水力旋流器在杏南九中转站应用的工艺流程:由三相分离器来水进入缓冲罐,其出水经增压泵增压后进自行设计的聚结器。聚结器起到对混合液中的油滴进行聚结、兼并的作用,以利于旋流器的分离。然后进水力旋流器进行处理,处理后的水去深度水处理系统,污油则去污油池。由于缓冲罐起到一定的重力沉降作用,因此进入水力旋流器的污水含量基本可稳定在 1000mg/L以下,一般在400mg/L左右。
