A survey of the prevalence of diabetes (DM) and impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) among 5,000 coal mine workers showed that the prevalence of diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance were 2.66% and 1.62%, respectively. The rates were 319% and 1.86%. Prevalence and age, signs. There was a significant relationship between blood pressure (P<0.01), and it was not related to sex, labor nature, and area of residence (p>0.05). Smoking, drinking, high-protein and high-fat diets were significantly higher in diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance than those in the normal control group at the same age (P<0.01); those who liked exercise were lower than those in the normal group (P<0.01); Blood cholesterol, triglyceride, and serum uric acid in patients with diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance were higher than those in the normal control group. High-density lipoprotein was lower than normal group (P<0.01), and there was no significant difference between serum creatinine and normal group (P>0.05).
