During this visit, we visited eight observatories or observatories of laser detection and moon measurement. During the discussion, we also discussed five or six sets of ranging systems that are currently in operation or being manufactured. These systems are old and new, different programs. According to our superficial understanding, according to the different design and manufacturing units of the system, that is to say, the differences between the design ideas and solutions can be roughly divided into the following four groups: (1) the laser ranging system of the Smithsonian Observatory (SAO); (2) Laser ranging systems based on Sylvania’s continuously mode-locked high power frequency doubling YAG laser, including the NASA / GSFC fixed station STALAS, the University of Hawaii LURE station, West Germany’s Wettzell station and Sylvania, are being manufactured in Japan Laser ranging system; (3) laser ranging systems at the University of Maryland and the University of Texas, including the Moon Survey at the McDonald Observatory
