赵寄石这20多年的学术研究和实践涉及学前教育的各个方面,从0～3岁儿童到3~6岁儿童,从城市学前教育到农村学前教育,从机构教育到家庭教育,从儿童教育到师范教育,从学前教育的宏观理论到微观理论等,对我国学前教育的改革和发展起到了十分重要的作用,特别是她关于幼儿园综合教育的理论和实践,对我国学前教育改革起到了导航的作用。可以说赵寄石是我国学前教育的学术引路人,她倡导和实践的幼儿园综合教育是中国幼儿教育改革发展历程中重要的里程碑。
