The rise of the Yangzhou painting school in the 18th century was called a revolution in the history of Chinese fine arts and had a profound and far-reaching impact on the development of Chinese painting of later generations. In the late Qing Dynasty, the emergence of Chen Chongguang and Wu Rangzhi was not only in the last glimmer of light, but also in the diminishing Yangzhou painting school and became one of the most important sources of the maritime art school to follow. Time flies, once named Yang, Chen Chongguang in Shanghai and its art almost annihilation. However, from a historical perspective, based on traditions and breakthroughs in formal skills and aesthetic realms, it provides a new experience and a new style of painter and his works for the development of the arts, which will surely occupy a place in art history. Chen Soguang, a talented and unfortunate painter, has been well-deserved for being a maritime masters in the field of innovative painting.
