The design concept of the hotel aims for a seamless blending of the ancient time. Authentic castle architecture， double heighted reception lobby and quaint staircases are the first to welcome the guests， in an environ of earthy and green color tones. Velvet wall hangings and upholstery fabrics and leathers of the sofas have been selected from revered Scottish companies. In 2017 Fairmont St Andrews underwent a grandiose interior renovations， and a bespoke artwork was made by artist George Singer， in which， 20，000 discs were individually installed to make "Zephyr" the 60m long swirling ceiling sculpture sweeping through the Atrium， imitating the movement of the water in the North Sea. Fairmont St Andrews features 209 guest rooms and suites， and 2 onsite Manor Homes， each featuring multiple en-suite bedrooms， fully fitted kitchen and living area， allowing one to immerse in the medieval country life.
