Natural immunity is the first line of defense against microbial invasion and the establishment and maintenance of its homeostasis needs to be precisely regulated. Recent research has shown that antigen-specific immune cells, T cells, traditionally regulate the inflammatory response in the innate immune phase in a nonspecific antigen-specific manner and determine the organism’s homeostatic response to microorganisms. Therefore, understanding the regulatory mechanisms of T cells and different T cell subtypes on innate immune inflammatory responses in depth will help to draw a new regulatory network of innate immunity, elucidate the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases and provide new therapeutic strategies.
