天竺葵的繁殖以扦插为主。试验表明:带踵扦插天竺葵,生根快,成株快。扦插基质以含腐殖质丰富而又排水良好的土壤为佳。扦插宜在春、秋季进行。插条选择一年生健壮枝条,长3～4厘米,先端留2～3片叶,基部带长1～2厘米的老校,将剪口剪平,带老校(即带踵)扦插。插条取好后,晾干伤口浸出液,再将老枝全部埋入土中,一年生枝插入 1/3左右。插后注意养护,2～3周后生根。
