Objective To investigate the changes of phos-pholipase A2 (PLA2) in rat heart tissue after acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP) and to explore its role in the pathogenesis of ANP complicated with heart injury. Methods Forty-two SD rats were divided into control group, model group and verapamil group. The animals were injected intraperitoneally with L-arginine solution. After 24 and 48 hours, the animals were sacrificed and PLA2, serum amylase and serum calcium Protein I (CTnI) changes. Results Serum AMS activity, serum CTnI and PLA2 in verapamil group were higher than those in control group (P <0.05), and were lower than those in model group (P <0.05). Conclusion PLA2 in heart tissue of ANP rats is obviously increased, and verapamil can inhibit PLA2 to reduce heart injury.
