Autonomous learning is different from the traditional teaching mode, which mainly emphasizes that students are dominant in learning, clarify their learning objectives, and set up their own learning plans. Cooperative learning, on the other hand, is an interactive way of learning that accomplishes a common goal in small groups. Although self-directed learning took place in our country from the seventies and eighties of the last century and achieved some success in all fields, due to the deep-rooted traditional teaching model, self-exploration and cooperative learning have not been well developed. This article explores the two aspects of self-exploration and group cooperation learning, aiming to explore the cultivation of self-learning ability of senior high school English and improve the efficiency of classroom. I. Factors Affecting Independent Inquiry and Cooperative Learning Since the independent inquiry is still not mature enough in our country, a complete system has not been formed. Such as teaching material content settings; teaching methods of teachers; In addition
