唐朝政府购买物资具有鲜明的地域特点,主要集中在关中地区、北方(东北、西北)边境地区、黄河中下游地区、江淮地区、岭南地区,呈现出以关中为中心,东南、西北并重的局面。政府购买物资的地域流向,主要有购买地本地使用、购买地—长安、购买地—边境或战场三种类型。政府购买物资的运路流向主要有两种:入京物资既充分利用漕运路线,又利用长安附近发达的陆路交通运输线;非入京物资的转运则利用了唐代全国各地发达的水陆交通线和完善的仓廪系统。
