Intestinal microecology is closely related to human health and plays an important role in metabolism, digestion, absorption and immunity.Disorders of the intestinal microbiota may lead to abnormalities of the immune system, and may be involved in the development of malignancy. This review summarizes the evidence supporting the use of intestinal microorganisms as tumor markers. In addition, this paper also summarizes the current perspectives regarding the involvement of intestinal microecology in the pathogenesis of cancer, providing a reference for potential biomarkers that could be used for the clinical diagnosis and response to treatment of tumors.
