甜菊在我国是近十几年才发展起来的高甜度的糖料作物。在我国北方,春栽甜菊越早,营养时间则越长,产量也越高。所以,早育苗、早移栽是增产的极重要措施。两年来的试验证明:在我国华北广大地区,秋季或冬季育苗比早春(3月上旬)育苗增产15％～25％,但甜菊生长需管理时间长达4～5个月,费工费心,代价大,不易采纳。如果采用半地下式双膜阳畦高苗,可大大缩短冬季育苗时间,不仅方法简单,且能收到较好的效果,其育苗方法如下。
