根据中央农林部下达的“西北沙荒、黄土高原大面积植树造林技术的研究”重点科研项目,为进一步推动并搞好“总结群众治沙造林经验”的课题,1977年6月22～28日,由中国科学院兰州冰川冻土沙漠研究所和宁夏农科所共同主持,在本区灵武县白芨滩防沙林场召开了西北七省(区)总结群众治沙造林经验科技协作会议。参加会议的有新疆、青海、甘肃、陕西、河南、内蒙、宁夏七省(区)有关业务部门、林业研究单位、治沙场站以及治沙造林工作搞的好的社队代表共47人。
According to the key scientific research project “Research on Large-scale Afforestation Technology in the Northwest Sand Scarcity and Loess Plateau” issued by the Central Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in order to further promote and improve the project “Summarizing the experiences of the masses in desertification control and afforestation”, from June 22 to 28, 1977, Co-chaired by the Lanzhou Institute of Glaciology and Permafrost Desertification, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ningxia Agricultural Science Institute, a scientific and technical cooperation meeting was held in the seven provinces (autonomous regions) of the western part of Baidan Beach in Lingwu County to summarize the experience of mass control and afforestation. A total of 47 representatives of the community units from Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Shaanxi, Henan, Inner Mongolia and Ningxia provinces (districts), forestry research institutes, sand control stations and desertification control teams attended the conference.
